HGV Technician – Knowsley (Monday–Thursday)

Pay: £19.22 per hour
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 06:00 – 18:00 (46 hours per week, 4-day week)
Contract: Permanent

Earning Potential (OTE)

Hourly Rate: £19.22 per hour
Basic Salary: £44,212 per year (based on 46-hour week)
Qualification Enhancement: Up to £300 per month for relevant qualifications
Bonus: Performance-related bonus scheme
Overtime Rate: Paid at time-and-a-half (1.5x) – £28.83 per hour
With 3 hours overtime per week: + £4,497 per year
Realistic OTE: £50,000 – £53,000+ per year (including enhancements and bonus)

Overview
We’re looking for a qualified, professional HGV Technician to join a busy dealership in Knowsley. This role offers a condensed 4-day working week (Monday–Thursday, 6am–6pm), giving you a three-day weekend every week. With qualification enhancement pay of up to £300 per month, a performance bonus, and a supportive team environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to maximise your earnings in a modern, well-equipped workshop.

Key Responsibilities

Perform all services according to manufacturer instructions and schedule
Carry out visual inspections, adjustments, fluid changes, and replacement of worn equipment
Identify deviations and extraordinary wear occurrences, initiating order expansions
Reset maintenance systems and ensure customer vehicles are cleaned and cared for
Perform simple and more extensive repairs, including major assembly replacement
Retrofit and start up accessories and detachable body components
Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

What You’ll Need

Full Level 3 NVQ in HGV Maintenance and Repair (essential)
Prior experience in a similar role within a dealership or commercial vehicle environment
Full UK driving licence (essential)
HGV licence is desirable but not essential
Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
Customer-focused with attention to detail
Disciplined, flexible, and a strong team player
