About your new company:
Our client, a leading provider of hire equipment and services, is seeking an experienced Hire Desk Manager to oversee the daily operations of their hire desk. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient coordination of equipment hires, customer service excellence, and the accurate administration of contracts.
About your new Hire Desk Manager role:
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the hire desk, ensuring all hire transactions are processed efficiently. Manage incoming enquiries, coordinate equipment availability and logistics, and drive maximum fleet utilisation.
- Lead and support the crane field team, including drivers, site supervisors, and slingers. Provide ongoing training, conduct performance reviews, and ensure team targets and KPIs are consistently met in line with company standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, handling enquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner. Proactively identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell services, while preparing accurate quotations and negotiating hire terms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date hire records, ensuring full compliance with health & safety regulations, internal quality systems, and legal requirements. Work closely with local authorities and traffic management teams where required.
What you’ll need to succeed as a Hire Desk Manager:
- Experience in equipment hire operations or similar industry.
- Knowledge of rental management systems and contract administration.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and optimise processes.
- Organizational and multitasking skills.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
