The Client
Kemp Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading engineering and construction services provider, known for delivering high-quality structural, mechanical, and specialist fabrication solutions. Their work spans from excavator attachments through to large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to lead operations at their Strood facility.
The Role – Production Manager
This is a senior leadership position where you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the welding and fabrication workshop. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage daily operations within the fabrication facility
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet deadlines and client requirements
- Coordinate labour, materials, and equipment to maximise efficiency
- Ensure all work complies with quality standards and specifications
- Monitor KPIs across output, efficiency, and quality
- Drive continuous improvement across production processes
- Work closely with senior management and engineering teams
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Manage, develop, and support workshop staff
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager or senior supervisor within welding/fabrication
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding techniques, and quality standards
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Good understanding of health & safety within an industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
