Job Title: Production Manager (Welding & Fabrication)
Location: Strood
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Electric Company Car
The Client
Kemp Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading engineering and construction services provider, known for delivering high-quality structural, mechanical, and specialist fabrication solutions. Their work spans from excavator attachments through to large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to lead operations at their Strood facility.
The Role – Production Manager
This is a senior leadership position where you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the welding and fabrication workshop. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily operations within the fabrication facility
• Develop and manage production schedules to meet deadlines and client requirements
• Coordinate labour, materials, and equipment to maximise efficiency
• Ensure all work complies with quality standards and specifications
• Monitor KPIs across output, efficiency, and quality
• Drive continuous improvement across production processes
• Work closely with senior management and engineering teams
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
• Manage, develop, and support workshop staff

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience as a Production Manager or senior supervisor within welding/fabrication
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding techniques, and quality standards
• Excellent organisational and planning skills
• Strong leadership and team management experience
• Good understanding of health & safety within an industrial environment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
