Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time
Are you an experienced Hire Desk professional looking for the next step in your career? We’re currently recruiting for a Hire Desk Manager to join a leading company within the construction and plant hire industry based in Manchester.
About the Role:
As Hire Desk Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the hire desk, managing a small team, and ensuring exceptional service is delivered to clients and colleagues alike.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the hire desk team to deliver efficient and professional service
• Handle customer enquiries, process hire requests, and oversee hire contracts
• Coordinate with the operations and transport teams to ensure timely delivery and collection of equipment
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
• Monitor stock availability, equipment utilisation, and ensure accurate system updates
• Manage and resolve any issues or complaints quickly and effectively
• Track KPIs and support performance reviews of the hire desk staff

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Hire Desk, Coordinator, or similar role within the hire or construction industry
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• IT proficiency, particularly with hire management systems and Microsoft Office
