Service Advisor – HGV Dealership (Cardiff)

Salary: £32,598 per annum (rising to £33,575 after 6-month probation)
Hourly Rate: £15.67 – £16.14 per hour (based on 40-hour week)
Hours: 40 hours per week (rota basis between 07:00 – 18:00) + Saturday 08:00 – 13:00 (1 in 3 weeks – included in salary but paid at overtime rate)
Contract: Permanent

Earning Potential (OTE)

Basic Salary: £32,598 – £33,575 per year
Hourly Rate: £15.67 – £16.14 per hour
Commitment Bonus: £600 per annum
Saturday Rate: Paid at overtime rate (1.5x)
Realistic OTE: Details to be discussed at interview

Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Service Advisor to join a busy HGV dealership in Cardiff. You’ll be the key link between customers and the workshop, ensuring a seamless service experience from booking through to vehicle handover. This role offers a competitive salary rising after probation, a £600 commitment bonus, and the ability to earn additional income through selling service contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Meet and greet customers in a professional and friendly manner
Take bookings and accurately load them into the workshop system
Manage workshop loading to maximise capacity
Raise job cards and ensure all documentation is completed
Keep customers informed of vehicle progress throughout the day
Hand over finished vehicles with detailed explanations of repairs
Actively sell after-sales services including service contracts
Discuss and arrange payment with customers
Provide advice on warranties and service requirements

What You’ll Need

Previous experience as a Service Advisor in an HGV or commercial vehicle dealership
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organisational and administrative abilities
Ability to sell service contracts
Full UK driving licence
