Breakdown HGV Technician – Oswestry

Salary: Up to £42,588 per year
Hours: Rotating shifts, Monday – Friday (42.5 hours paid per week after 30-min unpaid break):

• Week 1: 06:00 – 14:30
• Week 2: 13:30 – 22:00

• Alternate Saturday mornings (paid as overtime at 1.5x)

Hourly Rate: £19.27 per hour (based on 42.5 paid hours per week)
OTE: £55,000+ per year (including 3 hours overtime per week at 1.5x)

Overview
We’re looking for a Breakdown HGV Technician to join the team in Oswestry. You’ll attend stricken vehicles at the roadside or customer premises, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer job acceptance, ETA, ETC, and job completion via app
• Attend stricken vehicles at roadside or customer premises
• Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
• Liaise with customer fleet admin, recovery agents, and escort vehicles to depot
• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to VOSA standard
• Liaise with parts department to attain parts
• Complete job cards and service sheets in a timely manner
• Ensure Health & Safety regulations are adhered to

What You’ll Need

• Experience attending HGV & PSV roadside breakdowns
• Excellent customer service skills
• HGV and PSV licence (desirable but not essential)
• Technical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ) or proven experience
• Experience in commercial vehicle workshop
