HGV Technician (Nights) – Preston – Tuesday to Friday

Pay: £25.21 per hour (includes shift premium) + Technician Grade Bonus
Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 19:00 – 07:00 (46 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent

Earning Potential (OTE)

Hourly Rate (including shift premium): £25.21 per hour
Basic Salary (46-hour week): £60,295 per year
Overtime Rate: Paid at time-and-a-half (1.5x) – £37.82 per hour
Technician Grade Bonus: On top of basic (variable)
Realistic OTE: £62,000 – £65,000+ per year (depending on bonus)

Overview
We need an enthusiastic HGV Technician for night shifts at our Preston site. You’ll work Tuesday to Friday, 7pm to 7am – four nights on, three off. You’ll handle maintenance, repair, and diagnosis on commercial vehicles and trailers.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake maintenance and repair activities on commercial vehicles and trailers
Diagnose faults, carry out tests, and complete permanent repairs
Complete paperwork relating to warranty, contract, and retail work
Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise customer costs
Any other duties reasonably within your capabilities

What You’ll Need

City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2+ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
IRTEC accreditation
Experience in diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of commercial vehicles
Organised and methodical approach to problem solving
Full UK driving licence (HGV licence preferred but not essential)
Ability to work under pressure – independently and as part of a team
