About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong background in UK residential groundworks to play a key role in the commercial success of our projects.
Working closely with our estimating, procurement, and site management teams, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects from tender through to final account, ensuring profitability while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for all surveying and estimating queries, concerns, and commercial matters on assigned projects.
- Ensure the business fully complies with all contractual obligations and responsibilities.
- Assist with the preparation, submission, and negotiation of contract tenders and commercial submissions.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate project variations, claims, and design changes alongside the estimating and surveying teams.
- Produce accurate project forecasts, cost plans, and financial reports.
- Monitor project performance and prepare regular commercial reports demonstrating project profitability and progress.
- Work collaboratively with procurement and site management teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
- Ensure company procedures, commercial controls, and reporting deadlines are consistently met.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor working on UK residential groundworks projects.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam or similar construction software.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
