Hours: 4 on 4 off – 06:00 – 18:00
Full time, permanent
Earning Potential – Salary:
£45,634.16 per annum
Hourly rate equivalent: approx £21.94 per hour
Overtime paid at 1.5x (£32.91 per hour)
Realistic OTE including 3 hours overtime per week: £48,500 – £50,000
Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and professional HGV Technician to join the Aftermarket Department at our client’s Liverpool site. This is a proper workshop role with a 4 on 4 off day shift pattern – great work-life balance and serious earning potential. Our client is a well-established commercial vehicle specialist with high staff retention, manufacturer training, and genuine progression opportunities. Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking maintenance and repair activities on commercial vehicles and trailers of all types
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out tests on vehicles
- Effecting permanent and complete repairs
- Completing paperwork and procedures relating to warranty, contract, and retail work
- Preventative maintenance work to minimise unnecessary customer costs
- Any other duties reasonably within your capabilities as instructed by your manager
What You’ll Need
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (essential)
- Proven experience in diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of vehicles – commercial vehicle experience required
- Organised and methodical approach to problem solving with attention to detail
- Manufacturer training courses completed – with maintained knowledge of work methods and technical data
- Full, current UK driving licence – HGV licence preferred but not essential
- Friendly, confident, and professional manner with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure – both independently and as part of a larger team
