HGV Technician
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £19.50 – £23.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 5.30pm or 6.30am -4.30pm
Weekend Rota: Saturdays 7:30am – 12:30pm (rota)
On-Call: Paid on a rota basis

The Role
As an HGV Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers to the highest standards, including:
- Servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Preventative maintenance inspections
- MOT preparation and presentation
- Brake testing and safety inspections
- Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs
- Accurately completing job cards and service records
- Working efficiently while maintaining excellent health and safety standards
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this HGV Technician role, you’ll ideally have:
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
- Experience maintaining HGVs and trailers
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
- A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and within a team
- Good understanding of health and safety practices
- HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence is advantageous but not essential
