Mobile HGV Mechanic
Location: Peterborough (Field Based)
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm and every Saturday 8am-12pm at x 1.5 -anything over 40 hours paid at x 1.5
Salary: £20 per hour  + Overtime
Overtime: Paid at x1.5 and readily available

About your new company An independent business that has been established for over 15 years. Specialising in HGVs, cars and vans, they have earned an excellent reputation for providing high-quality maintenance and roadside support. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to recruit an experienced Mobile HGV Mechanic to join their growing field service team.

About your new Mobile HGV Mechanic role

• Travel to customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Attend roadside breakdowns and recoveries.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete inspections and MOT preparation on customer fleets.
• Carry out emergency repairs to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Liaise with the parts department to obtain required components.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures.
• Accurately complete job cards and service documentation.
• Deliver excellent customer service while representing the business on site.
• Maintain vehicle stock and equipment while keeping up to date with manufacturer training.

The successful Mobile HGV Mechanic will require

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or time served experience).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Flexible approach to working hours and customer demands.
