HGV Mechanic
Location: Peterborough
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off | 6:00am – 6:00pm
Salary: £20.81 per hour + Overtime
Overtime: Paid at x1.5 and readily available

About your new company An independent business that has been established for over 15 years. Specialising in HGVs, cars and vans, they have built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their busy workshop team.

About your new HGV Mechanic role

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to a wide range of HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete MOT preparation and inspections.
• Attend disabled vehicles when required.
• Ensure all vehicles are worked on safely and to a high standard.
• Liaise with the parts department to source required components.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and workshop procedures.
• Complete all job cards, service sheets and paperwork accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
• Keep up to date with product knowledge and manufacturer training.

The successful HGV Mechanic will require

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or time served experience).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Flexible attitude and strong work ethic.
