Class 1 HGV Shunter
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £15.00 per hour
Hours: 2 Days Per Week -potential to increase through time
The Company
An independent business that has been established for over 15 years. Specialising in HGVs, cars and vans, they have built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a reliable and experienced Class 1 HGV Shunter to support the movement of vehicles between their Peterborough depots.
The Role
As a Class 1 HGV Shunter, you will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are in the right place at the right time. This is a varied position involving shunting vehicles between three local depots, as well as transporting vehicles to and from MOT appointments.
Duties Include:
- Moving HGVs safely between three Peterborough depots.
- Shunting vehicles around each depot and workshop.
- Delivering and collecting vehicles for MOT appointments.
- Carrying out basic daily vehicle checks before movements.
- Ensuring all vehicle movements are completed safely and efficiently.
- Working closely with the workshop team to support daily operations.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- Full UK Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
- Confident manoeuvring commercial vehicles in busy yard environments.
- Reliable, organised and safety focused.
- Able to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
