PSV Technician

Position: PSV Technician 
Location: Sunderland
Salary: £19.11 per hour (Monday–Friday) – £2.50 per hour (Weekends) –  Overtime paid at £24.00 per hour
Shift: 
5:00am – 1:00pm
5:00am – 1:00pm
4:00pm – 12:00pm

Kemp Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established and reputable coach operator in Sunderland to recruit an experienced PSV Technician to join their engineering team.

The Role:
As a PSV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of coaches, ensuring all vehicles are safe, reliable and ready for service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Completing safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Working efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Ensuring all work is completed to high health and safety standards.

Shift Pattern 
This position operates on a 5 days out of 7 rota with the following rotating shifts:

• 8:00am – 4:00pm
• 5:00am – 1:00pm
• 3:30pm – 11:00pm

The rota includes 2 weekends out of every 7 Weeks

Pay Rates:

• Monday to Friday: £19.11 per hour
• Weekend Rate: £21.50 per hour
• Overtime: £22 per hour

What We’re Looking For:

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent) is preferred.
• We will also consider experienced PSV/HGV Technicians with at least five years’ post-apprenticeship experience.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience carrying out servicing, repairs and inspections on heavy vehicles.
• A positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
