Fleet Engineering Manager

Fleet Engineering Manager Location: Leven & St Andrews
Salary: £62,000 per annum + Company Car + Bonus + Relocation Assistance (where applicable)
Shift: Monday to Friday (Weekends as and when required)

Kemp Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established and respected bus and coach operator to recruit an experienced Fleet Engineering Manager to oversee engineering operations across two depots in Leven and St Andrews

You’ll play a key role in ensuring fleet reliability, maintaining engineering excellence and leading a high-performing team in a safety-focused environment.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Senior Engineering Management Team, you will be responsible for leading the engineering operation across both depots, ensuring the fleet is maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering teams across both depots.
• Deliver effective engineering support to maximise fleet availability.
• Drive high standards of fleet safety, reliability and presentation.
• Ensure full compliance with all DVSA, Operator Licence and statutory maintenance requirements.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and maximise fleet performance.
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Manage engineering budgets and resources effectively.
• Monitor engineering KPIs and implement improvements where required.
• Work closely with senior management and operational teams to support business objectives and continuous improvement.
• Develop, mentor and motivate engineering staff, promoting a positive safety and performance culture.

About You 
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A proven track record in commercial vehicle, PSV or HGV fleet engineering management.
• Experience leading workshop teams within a busy engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programmes and fleet compliance.
• Excellent understanding of Health & Safety, environmental and employment legislation.
• A commercially aware approach with the ability to balance operational performance and cost control.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
