Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a Monday to Friday, day-shift role in Peterborough? We are recruiting for a skilled HGV Technician to join a busy and established workshop. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of HGVs and trailers, carrying out diagnostics, safety inspections and MOT preparation.

The Role of the successful HGV Technician

Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers
Diagnose faults and complete defect repairs
Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT inspections
Complete periodic safety inspections to DVSA standards
Attend breakdowns and carry out roadside diagnostics and repairs when required
Complete job cards and inspection paperwork accurately
Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times

HGV Technician Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years’ HGV Technician experience
NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Strong knowledge of HGV mechanical and electrical systems
Confident using diagnostic equipment and reading technical manuals
Category C or C+E driving licence is desirable
Reliable, motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
