Location: Cumbria
Salary: up to £20 per hour 
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm
Saturday: Every other Saturday, paid at time and a half
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

A growing, family-run commercial vehicle business is looking to add an experienced HGV Technician to its established workshop team. With continued investment and expansion of its maintenance operation, this is a great opportunity to join a stable business working on a large mixed fleet of around 300+ trucks and trailers.

About the HGV Technician Role

As an HGV Technician, you will work alongside an experienced team carrying out the servicing, maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles and trailers.
Your responsibilities will include:

• HGV servicing, maintenance and repairs
• MOT preparation and DVSA compliance
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
• Working across a range of HGVs, trailers and ancillary equipment
• Completing service sheets, job cards and defect reports
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard
• Maintaining good workshop safety and housekeeping standards

What We’re Looking For
The successful HGV Technician will ideally have:

• Minimum 5 years’ mechanical experience in a similar role
• Level 3 / City & Guilds / NVQ qualification or equivalent experience
• Previous HGV / commercial vehicle experience
• HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Pride in the quality of your work
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Time and a half after 40 hours
• Time and a half for weekend working
