Salary:                   £59,904 + Company Van + paid breaks
Hours:                  M-F 6am-3pm, 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm

The Role as an HGV Supervisor
Looking to take the next step in your HGV career?
We’re recruiting for an experienced HGV Supervisor to lead a team of 6 HGV Technicians within a busy and well-organised commercial vehicle workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior technician, chargehand or existing supervisor who enjoys mentoring others, overseeing workshop operations and remaining involved in the technical side of the role.
This position is approximately 75% supervisory and 25% hands-on, giving you the opportunity to utilise both your leadership skills and technical expertise.
As HGV Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

• Leading and supervising a team of 6 HGV Technicians
• Allocating workloads and monitoring workshop productivity
• Acting as the main technical point of contact for the workshop team
• Providing guidance and support with diagnostics and complex repairs
• Ensuring servicing, maintenance and repairs are completed to company and DVSA standards

• Monitoring job progress and workshop efficiency
• Supporting technicians with fault finding and technical queries
• Maintaining high levels of health and safety compliance
• Liaising with management regarding workshop performance and operational requirements
• Carrying out hands-on servicing, diagnostics and repairs when required
• Ensuring accurate completion of job cards and workshop documentation
• Promoting a positive and professional team culture

 What we’re looking for in the HGV Supervisor  

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
• Supervisory, Chargehand or Team Leader experience would be advantageous
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
• Good understanding of HGV maintenance and repair procedures
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to motivate and support a workshop team
• Full UK Driving Licence
