Retail & Parts Sales Assistant

Location: Hersham, Surrey | Permanent, Full-Time | Hourly Rate + Benefits

The Role

Working as part of the showroom team and reporting to the Parts & Retail Manager, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the retail operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting customers with their enquiries both face-to-face and over the telephone
• Selling a range of parts, hardware, clothing and related products
• Providing friendly, knowledgeable and professional customer service
• Supporting workshop technicians with parts identification and ordering
• Receiving goods and helping with the distribution of orders
• Processing cash, cheque and card payments
• Assisting with stock and general showroom duties
• Responding to customer enquiries via email and telephone
• Working towards sales targets and identifying opportunities to support customers with additional products
• Ensuring the showroom is kept organised, professional and welcoming

About You

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, approachable and confident dealing with customers. You don’t necessarily need to come from an agricultural or parts background, what matters most is your attitude, customer service skills and willingness to learn.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous retail, sales or customer service experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good computer skills, including email and internet use
• A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to use your own initiative
• Good attention to detail and numeracy skills
• The ability to remain calm and organised during busy periods
• Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
• A smart and professional approach
• A genuine interest in helping customers and delivering great service
• A full UK driving licence

Knowledge of agricultural, horticultural or machinery parts would be beneficial, but full training can be provided for the right person.

Working Hours 38 hours per week

• Tuesday – Friday: 7:30am – 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
• Saturday: 8:30am – 12:30pm
• Permanent, full-time, hourly paid position
