Job Title: Senior Hire Desk Controller
Salary: £30,000 – £38,000
Hours: Monday to Friday – Days
Please note: Previous experience within the equipment hire industry is essential
The Company
My client is a nationwide leader in the Tool, Plant, and Powered Access hire sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Hire Desk Controller to take a lead role in their busy depot team.
The Role – Senior Hire Desk Controller
As a Senior Hire Desk Controller, you will be the key point of contact for the depot, managing hire operations and ensuring a smooth, efficient process from enquiry to delivery. You will also provide guidance and support to junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:

• Handling incoming hire enquiries via phone, email, and online systems
• Checking equipment availability and ensuring system records are accurate and up to date
• Coordinating with engineering and transport teams to ensure timely preparation and delivery of equipment
• Leading by example and supporting junior colleagues with training and advice
• Providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with internal teams and customers

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience in a Plant, Tool, Powered Access, or Material Handling hire environment
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and internal hire systems
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and support a team in a fast-paced environment
