Hours: 4 on 4 off – 06:00 – 18:00
Full time, permanent

Earning Potential – Salary:
£50,882 per annum
Hourly rate equivalent: approx £24.46 per hour
Overtime paid at 1.5x (£36.69 per hour)
Realistic OTE including 3 hours overtime per week: £55,000 – £57,000

Overview
We’re looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join an award-winning commercial vehicle specialist in Preston. This is a proper leadership role – 4 on 4 off shift pattern, great work-life balance, and proper pay. Our client is a well-established, multi-accredited employer with high staff retention and a reputation for quality work. If you’re an experienced HGV Technician ready to step up – or already supervising – this is the one.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading and supervising the workshop team on shift
• Allocating work to technicians and ensuring efficient workflow
• Carrying out quality checks on completed work
• Diagnosing and supporting with complex repairs when needed
• Ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standards
• Managing workshop documentation and job cards
• Maintaining health and safety standards across the workshop
• Supporting the Service Manager with daily operations

What You’ll Need

• Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI) in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (essential)
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician – supervisory experience preferred but not essential if you’re ready to step up
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to lead, motivate, and organise a team
• Full, current UK driving licence – HGV licence desirable but not essential
