Workshop Supervisor (Van Technician) – Tipton

Pay: £23.00 per hour
Hours: 45 hours per week + Saturdays as required
Shifts: Rotating: 07:00 – 16:30 / 08:30 – 18:00
Contract: Permanent

Earning Potential (OTE)

• Hourly Rate: £23.00 per hour
• Basic Salary: £53,820 per year (based on 45-hour week)
• Overtime: Saturdays and additional hours paid at enhanced rates
• Realistic OTE: £55,000 – £60,000+ per year with overtime

Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead the team at our newly opened Van Centre in Tipton. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow with a thriving new site, offering excellent basic earnings and plenty of overtime in a busy workshop. You’ll combine hands-on technical work with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring high standards of workmanship and workshop efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily workshop activities and workflow
• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on light commercial vehicles
• Perform diagnostics and fault finding to manufacturer standards
• Conduct safety inspections and routine maintenance
• Complete all job cards and documentation accurately
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and workshop safety
• Support and mentor the technician team
• Ensure targets and deadlines are met efficiently
• Monitor technician performance and productivity

What You’ll Need

• Recognised Level 3 qualification in LCV Maintenance (NVQ/City & Guilds/IMI)
• Proven experience as a Van Technician with supervisory experience
• Excellent diagnostic and repair skills
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Full UK driving licence
