Previous experience within the Equipment Hire industry is essential.
Kemp Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading nationwide hire company for an experienced Hire Desk Controller to join their busy Hire depot in Oxford.
Working within a specialist division, you’ll be coordinating the hire of a wide range of non-mechanical site equipment including temporary fencing, barriers, ground protection, track mats, road plates, pedestrian barriers, staging, trestles and other essential site infrastructure products. These products are commonly supplied to the construction, utilities, rail, highways and civil engineering sectors.

The Role
As a Hire Desk Controller, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day hire operation of the depot, ensuring customers receive the right equipment at the right time.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing incoming hire enquiries via telephone and email
• Processing hire, extension and off-hire requests
• Checking stock availability and allocating equipment
• Working closely with the operations and transport teams to coordinate deliveries and collections
• Liaising with the depot team to ensure equipment is inspected and ready for hire
• Producing quotations, contracts and hire documentation
• Updating the hire management system with accurate customer and equipment information
• Building strong relationships with both new and existing customers
• Resolving customer queries efficiently and professionally
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy hire depot

About You
The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Hire Controller, Hire Desk Controller or Hire Coordinator within the Plant Hire, Tool Hire, Non-Mechanical Hire, Powered Access, Material Handling or Equipment Hire industry
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good IT skills and experience using hire management systems
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload
• A proactive and team-focused approach
