This is an excellent opportunity to join an established security solutions provider, carrying out reactive works, planned preventative maintenance, remedial repairs and small installations across commercial and enterprise environments. You will work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team, ensuring electronic security and life-safety systems operate reliably, securely and in line with industry regulations and NSI/NACOSS Gold standards.
As a Security Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Carrying out reactive callouts, preventative maintenance, service remedials and small works across commercial and enterprise sites.
Installing, configuring, testing and servicing electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and intercom systems.
Diagnosing and resolving hardware, cabling, software and system integration faults.
Completing system testing, commissioning and fault-finding activities to ensure reliable system operation.
Maintaining accurate job sheets, service reports, test records and commissioning documentation.
Ensuring all work complies with relevant industry standards, company procedures and NSI/NACOSS Gold requirements.
Following site-specific RAMS, health and safety procedures and safe working practices at all times.
Delivering excellent workmanship, system reliability and customer service.
Working effectively both independently and collaboratively with the wider engineering team.
The successful Security Service Engineer will have:
Proven experience servicing and maintaining electronic security systems.
Experience with intruder alarms, CCTV/video surveillance and access control systems.
Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and technical problem-solving skills.
The ability to interpret schematics, floor plans and technical wiring diagrams.
Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
A commitment to teamwork, continued professional development and high engineering standards.
Flexibility to undertake in-house and manufacturer training where required.
Experience with the following systems would be advantageous:
Access Control: Paxton, C-Cure
CCTV & Video Surveillance: Axis, Milestone, Hikvision
Intercoms: Videx, BPT/Came
Intruder Alarms: Honeywell, Texecom, Pyronix, Scantronics
Fire alarm experience would also be beneficial but is not essential.
The Security Service Engineer will receive an excellent package, including:
Competitive salary depending on experience.
Door-to-door travel pay, with travel time paid at the standard rate after the first 30 minutes each way.
Company van and fuel card, where applicable, with personal use permitted.
40-hour working week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, including paid lunch.
25 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays and an additional day off for your birthday.
1 in 6 on-call rota, with overtime and call-out payments.
Overtime opportunities and enhanced rates, subject to company arrangements.
Laptop, mobile device, power tools and test equipment.
Company pension scheme.
Annual performance-based salary reviews.
Quarterly team-building events.
Manufacturer training and opportunities for long-term career development within a growing business.
If you don’t meet every requirement but have relevant electrical or security systems experience, we’d still love to hear from you. There may be other opportunities that suit your skillset.
