Location: Weston-super-Mare
Salary: £34,000–£36,000 DOE
Hours: 42.5 hours per week

The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Hire Desk Controller to join a leading plant hire business in Weston-super-Mare. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong hire desk and team leadership experience to take responsibility for supporting and overseeing hire desk operations across multiple depots.

The Role

• Oversee and support hire desk teams across Weston-super-Mare, Exeter and Liskeard.
• Manage plant and equipment hire bookings, contracts, and on-hire/off-hire processes.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, delivering excellent customer service.
• Coordinate with transport, sales and workshop teams to ensure efficient operations.
• Monitor hire contracts, invoicing, equipment availability and reporting.
• Support the development and performance of the hire desk team, providing guidance and mentoring.
• Assist management with KPIs, reports and operational improvements.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a team leader or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of hire desk operations and customer service.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Plant hire experience would be advantageous.
• Experience using Syrinx would be beneficial, although training can be provided.
• Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
